Could You Have Done It Better?

Any movies out there that make you say "If I could have directed that, it would have been so much better!"? Mine is White Oleander. I loved the book but thought the movie stunk! I thought the actors chosen were all wrong too.

Could You Have Done It Better?
Unless you are talking Uwe Boll movies, it is pretty arrogant to assume you could have done better. Writing and directing a movies is not as easy people assume. As the writer you've got to (in the case of say White Oleaner) translate from the print medium to film. This isn't easy even remotely. Things that work in print do not necessarily work on film. Take Dune for a good example, considered to be the hardest book to date adapted into a movie. Twice! With a third on the way attempting to fix what was wrong with the first two.

If you are the director you have pressures from the writer, producers and studio. You've got budget constraints, and deadlines. Not to mention that the editing process is truly the make or break stage in a film.

If it were that easy we'd all be making movies.

With that off my chest, a steaming pile of crap could make a better film than Uwe Boll.
Reply:Yes. Halloween. I was dissappointed by it. But thats nothing new, since most horror movies nowdays pretty much suck. I would have loved to have given Halloween that new, clean-slate feel, like Nolan did with the Batman franchise. I
Reply:yeah, the villiage
Reply:Okay anything involving Orlando Bloom a ******* brick could do better ... Otherwise Transformers.... Alexander.... Anything Micheal Bay did

Thats all I have to say .....

Reply:All 3 x-men movies...make them more accurate to the comicbook history...might not be as exciting to start...but would end in a major epic last stand
Reply:Yeah, pretty much any movie based (loosely) on a book. The only exception in my opnion is "Girl, Interrupted." I liked the movie alot more than the book. It is my favorite movie of all time.
Reply:Prime with Uma Thurman. I didn't like the ending.

Also,

Eragon.
