Regarding baby names...question?

Does anyone have any names that they just cannot stand because of someone they used to know or some situation in their past that completely turned them off from the name??

Here are a few I just cannot get myself to like b/c it always reminds me of something or someone:

*note: please do not be offended if this is a name you're considering...it's not personal, in fact the name in itself is fine, it's just an association I, personally, make with the name.

Keisha - reminds me of a really snobby girl in high school that looked an awful lot like Miss Piggy - so I always think "Miss Piggy" when I hear that name.

Hannah - I do not know why, but I always picture afghans (blankets)...and think old lady with a shawl. (weird, I know)

Kristine/Krissi - reminds me on an ex-best friend and roommate who turned into a psycho after we moved in together (very Single White Female).

Star - I just think stripper. Probably because of the book White Oleander.

That's all I got for now...

Regarding baby names...question?
Yep! I agree with you on those names.

Destiny- reminds me of a stripper

Starr-stripper

Jasmine- stripper

Britney- Britney "Skanky" Spears ruined it. It sounds really trashy

Nevaeh- trashy

Paris- skanky Paris Hilton. And Paris is a CITY!!!

Agnes- old lady name. It was my great grandmothers name too, but I liked her. I just hate the name

Brianna- All the Briannas I know are snobby b***hes

Bridget- same as Brianna. Plus my cousin named her dog that.

Yasmin- birth control pills

Gertrude- sounds like a wrinkly, snobby old lady

Apple- ummm...It's a fruit. I wouldn't be surprised if Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter grows up to be a stripper because the name is trashy.

Prudence- old wrinkly spoiled lady

Precious- stripper

Princess-Stripper and it sounds like an evil dog I used to know.

Bailey- a bratty little girl I know. The name also reminds me of liquor.

Mercedes- ummm... this girl I knew in middle school was a b***h and who the hell names their kid after a car?!

Lexus- it's a car and sounds like a stripper name.

Jayden and all those names that rhyme with it- They're horrible and too trendy. Jayden reminds me of Britney "Skanky" Spears' 2nd son and that kid isn't that cute at all. The name sounds really trashy.

Emily- bratty little girl! Sounds like a preppy cheerleader and the name is too popular.

Emma- same as Emily

Adolph- Adolph Hitler ruined it.

Pilot Inspektor- Wtf is up with these celebrities?!

Moxie CrimeFighter- 0_o; WTF?

La'Trina- sounds ghetto. Who the hell names a kid after a toilet?!

Fantasia- Hate it because of that girl on American Idol. I hate her!

Crystal- stripper name and reminds me of liquor.

Lindsay- Lindsay Lohan. enough said.

Anything super trendy, named after food or body parts or cars, made up, is misspelled, sounds trashy or stripper-ish, or sounds like an old lady name or any celebrity baby name.

HANNAH - NOT SURE BUT NEVER LIKED THIS NAME...

Reply:Yes, I have names like that. Jessica reminds me of a girl my sister used to be friends with that was super annoying, so now I could never name my kids that, even though I have a good friend by that name. That's the one that sticks out in my mind, though I'm sure I have a number of them if I really thought about it.
Reply:yes. "Pontius Pilate" or "Adolf" bring back bad memories.
Reply:Gary..

because there was a boy in my class at school, who always farted, and was really annoying, so whenever someone is called Gray, I think of him
Reply:Hmmm ... there are plenty of names that I don't care for, but the only one that stands out because of a particular person is Joella.

I worked for her, briefly, and then she left. I was promoted into her job, but she was retained as a consultant to ease the transition. I found her not just useless, but completely counterproductive. (I'd ask the staff for one thing; she'd say "oh, no, we have to do it this way ...") It wasn't all bad - it forced me to grow a spine.

Still, every time I hear Joelle, Joella or any variation, I feel a wave of that old irritation.
Reply:Joan - I know and like several Joan's, but I never liked the name.

John - too common a name, despite very good friends named John

Mildred

Mike - Michael is slightly more tolerable

Gordon

Lorne and Lorna

Lindsay - a moron I knew in childhood
Reply:Madison- I know of at least 8 spoiled, horrible little brats named this.

Nicki- A crazy, compulsive liar I knew in high school.

Ashley- Never had a good experience with an Ashley. All of them I know are snobby.
Reply:Karen

Michelle

Krystal

Joe

Jeremy

Julie

Greg

Curtis
Reply:YES! Names of ex-boyfriends in particular.

Also names that are also other words/places just bother me- like Dakota (as in North %26amp; South), Chase (All I think of is the game tag!), Autumn (or any season/month), Racer (yes I knew a kid with this name), etc.
Reply:emily - ex friend, long story.

ava- reminds me of hitler's girlfriend, (ava braun)

nevaeh - people think it's so great, but it's really quite stripper-ish and cliche
Reply:Rebecca: I girl I used to know who had this inability to stop talking, which would have been fine if what she had to say was intelligent, but it was all just endless blather.

Emily: I think I would like this name, but I knew a very arrogant girl with it.

Silvia: I love the name, but I knew someone who was just so intolerable. God, now I hate it.
Reply:I have quite a few names like that. Some of them include:

Shannon- A pompous girl. She tried to be unique, but she was your typical snotty girl posing to be 'one of the guys.' I hate her so much because she used my BF, and he never saw it.

Rachel- I have two bad Rachel associations. One acted very similar to the above. But, I also have a bad association with another Rachel - an old bitter roommate of mine.

'Sam' Samantha- Another snot that acted interested in my BF when she was not.

Tim- Old BF. He turned into a pompous jerk.

Joshua 'Josh'- Some really mean kid from middle school days

Jesse- Obnoxious kid from HS

It stinks, because I thought Rachel and Samantha were sweet names until the associations.
Reply:Amber - A really... trashy... girl in high school. I think of prostitutes when I hear this name.

Shawna - A girl by boyfriend cheated on me with in high school. She was also trashy. Think bling bling nose ring (HUGE fake jewel), orange skin due to spray on tans, and she wore super short shorts in the winter.

John - Too many terrible people with that name. Not even going into it.

Kayla - A girl I was best friends with that ended up sleeping with my boyfriend. (Same boyfriend as why I hate Shawna. He turned me off to a LOT of names.)

That's all I can think of for now...
Reply:Denise

because that's the name of my cousins baby mom and the girl is crazy

also that's the name of my bf ex-girlfriend and i dint like her cuz she is crazy as well

so in other words when i hear that name i think of a crazy, derange, psycho woman
Reply:Audrey- A name I would otherwise like if it weren't for one girl.

Becky- girl I knew who was psycho and whiny and wanted attention from anyone, and she wouldn't take care of herself or her mistakes

I'm sure there's more that I can't just remember at the moment.
Reply:Karlee - ex best friend - whore... thats sums that up

Anna - really bad person from childhood

Richard - bad teacher

George - elementary school principal --- mean man

Kayleigh - a pretty skanky girl from high school
