Does anyone know if the "Oleander" plant is poisonis?
YES .....

Oleander is highly toxic. Predominantly the sap of the plant. Treat it as if handling any other toxic plant, wash your hands or wear gloves, keep away from pets that may chew on it, due not inhale fumes if you ever burn it, etc. They are very beautiful, just be careful. Hope this helps ........
Reply:Yes, it is. In fact, they've taken them all off the freeways in

California in case there's an accident and they burn for the

smoke is toxic also.
Reply:yup its poisonus
Reply:definitely, don't cook with the wood or eat the resin but, safe otherwise.
Reply:I guess they must have forgotten all of Interstate 5 when they supposedly removed the oleander bushes from the freeways of California. That's a bunch of hooey.

Yes, it is toxic. Yes, if you brush against the bush (a lot, not a little) you can poison yourself, if you lick the exposed area (won't go through the skin), and eating any of it is serious hospital time.

Once a friend who had never seen it before, didn't believe me about how toxic it was, so the idiot put a leaf in his mouth. It quickly burned his mouth and made his tongue swell up for the afternoon. Children could easily die from swallowing a leaf. Not good. Your problem is your dog. I have never heard of anyone having a dog get sick/die, but what happens if you pet him and rub your eyes? I wouldn't plant it unless you are sure nothing will get into it.

It's great for hot dry areas though!
Reply:Yes it is poisonous. A woman went to prison for cooking it into her husbands dinner.

Don't use the wood: A lot of people B-B-Q with wood but there are only certain types you can use. This is one to NOT use.
